In honor of National Poetry Month, we thought we’d share this list from the Huffington Post of “13 Poetry Collections for People Who Think They Don’t Like Poetry.”

Whether or not you consider yourself a poet, as a writer, poetry can teach us how to get to the heart of our material. It can teach us to eliminate unnecessary words and cliched images; can help pinpoint our own trite attempts at make meaning when our word choice hasn’t done the work for us.

Don’t consider yourself a poet or a writer? No worries, because overall, we think poetry is simply good for the soul.
