Workshop Leader
Sarah Eggers is poet, visual artist and psychotherapist. A graduate of the Hunter MFA program, Sarah went on to teach creative writing and English literature at Hunter for three years. Additionally, she has led poetry and creative writing workshops for teens and adults, mentored teen girls through Girls Write Now in New York and has co-led poetry and photography workshops for people with mental illness. Sarah is a graduate of the Loyola Marymount University graduate program in marital and family therapy and clinical art therapy. In addition to her work as a psychotherapist, Sarah has been a professional book club facilitator in the Los Angeles area for the last three years. Her poetry and criticism have appeared in such places as Thethe, The Atlanta Review, The Peacock, Ology and others. This July, Sarah will present a workshop on incorporating poetry and the visual arts in therapy at the American Art Therapy Association Conference in Minneapolis, MN. Sarah has attended art and writing residencies at the Vermont Studio Center and at the International Center for the Arts in Umbria, Italy.
